Why does it seem that the group that is most quick to judge, is "Christians".
My baby sister is the last one in school, she attends a local Lutheran School even though we aren't Lutheran because our local public schools were falling short but that's a different story.
Recently, it has come to the schools attention that she was not baptized. As an infant she was dedicated to the Lord, but not baptized because it is our belief that when of age, she should make that decision for herself.
The school did not lovingly encourage her to get baptized but harshly told her she was going to hell because of it. She explained that she was dedicated as an infant and will make the choice to become baptized when she feels she is ready. This is when the stones started flying.
I understand that, as Christians we all have different beliefs. I cannot imagine 2 people having the exact same beliefs. So why would they not fill her with love, encouragement and have her seek a closer relationship with the Lord instead of making her look up verses that tell her she's going to hell for not being baptized, making it known to the class that she isn't baptized and arguing with her?
I feel like this represents Christians, badly. But does it? There are so many "rules" that worshiping gets lost. It's taking the path with the rest of the church and not the path God sets out for you.
My sister is very stubborn admittedly, a family trait and this whole ordeal has not pushed her to further her relationship with God, it has made her angry and spiteful towards the teacher at school.
I guess it's just me, but, I feel like we have such a loving God and sometimes he must just laugh at the rules that man has set forth for worshiping Him.
