We have a 3 bedroom house. Phillip has a room, Hannah has a room & then we have the master bedroom.
Hannah prefers to sleep alone, with a loud fan on, and no lights on besides her little glow seahorse that turns off after 3 minutes.
Phillip prefers to sleep in our room, in a little makeshift bed next to my side of the bed. Even though he has a very comfortable bed in his room, a nightlight (a ladybug & sea turtle ((we have one of each)) that projects stars on the ceiling and turns off automatically after 45 minutes) and all of his toys etc are in there. He will sleep in his room when he is made to, but herein lies the problem
For the summer we moved Hannah into Phillips room: we have a window a/c that we put in that room so it was cooler and they could sleep without frying. We have to put Hannah in her toddler bed first, be really quiet and wait an hour until she's sound asleep. Then we bring Phillip in, he turns on his ladybug or turtle and fidgets in bed. Once they are both asleep I close the door (Hannah cannot open the door at night. If we leave it open she wanders!!). If either one wakes up in the middle of the night....they both wake up. Phillip wants to sleep in our room and Hannah has to go back in bed (which usually is without a problem) with her "ba-ba" (a sippy cup). But it still takes a while.
I was GOING to keep Hannah in Phillip's room and arrange it all neat. It's decorated in Scooby Doo (the room that is) and BOTH kids adore Scooby-Doo. So that way I could make the princess room (Hannah's room) into a nursery again so Sophie can have her own room and all her items could be contained :) And later once Sophie is a year old and we are moving her to a big girl bed, we would move Hannah back into that room and the girls could share a room.
I don't know if this is just and adjustment period for the kids, or if they need their own rooms! We can set up a very small nursery in our room and Sophie can sleep there for the first 6 months and things will stay the "same" room wise.
This is getting so confusing and it is kinda petty I know but thank the Lord it is the only major thing going on right now! Besides the normal drama that ensues, but I am actively trying (and succeeding the last few days!!!!!) of not being stressed and not letting my blood pressure get too high! <3
Side Note: My Mom & sisters are (hopefully, we shall hear tomorrow!) moving into an apartment that sounds VERY promising. Not the crap they lived in before. I pray every night that our relationship is going to be fixed and we can get back to the roles we are supposed to play and that my Mom will find peace, divorce her "husband" (which she is in the process of!) and that the 3 of them can be HAPPY! I love them very much and can't wait to help fix up their new apartment and figure out where everything goes!! I hope to have a few surprises for them too.
